Autumn engagement shoot at Sandbanks
I recently had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Jonathan & Catherine for their Autumn engagement shoot at Sandbanks, and although it was absolutely freezing and windy when we turned up, we were blessed with the most beautiful, golden sunset. This is the reason why I try and aim to do all of my engagement/portrait sessions within what us photographers call ‘golden hour’ (The last hour of sunlight) as the lighting is always perfect! Completely even and soft, so no harsh lighting/shadows cast across anyone’s face and usually a gorgeous golden sky, participially if it has been a nice clear day! Even though it had been quite a cloudy day and felt more like winter with the temperature, you’ll see by the photos as you scroll down, that the light was really beautiful and progresses into a warm sunset as the shoot went on. Jonathan & Catherine are having quite a short engagement and planning their beautiful wedding that will take place at Sopley Mill in March within only 6 months. They booked me as their wedding photographer last month and within a couple of weeks we’d organised their engagement shoot to ensure that it was done before I go on maternity leave later this month. From our first meeting I could tell just how loved up they are from their body language and how they speak to each other and they were no different for their engagement photo session, super sweet, cuddly and kissing without a care in the world that I was their with a camera. This meant that they felt comfortable to just be themselves as I snapped some beautiful moments between them in the beautiful setting of Sandbanks beach, which they have fond memories of.
