Wedding Photographer FAQ

Are you a full time photographer?

Yes, I am very happy to say that I am a full time self employed wedding photographer 🙂

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as natural and heartfelt with a bit of direction during the bride and groom shots. I take lots of candid shots throughout the day and absolutely love capturing emotion and interaction. It’s the real moments that count and I strive to tell a story through my imagery.

What is your pricing? 

My packages start from £1500 for all day coverage and my full package list and pricing can be found by clicking here

Do you have insurance?

Yes absolutely! I am fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity.

How far in advance do we need to book you?

Certain dates are more popular than others, particularly during the summer months so I would advise to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. That’s not to say that I won’t have your date available so it’s always best to get in touch as I may just still have your date free. I have been booked under 2 months before the wedding date for a summer wedding in the past, however if I am already booked I will be sure to recommend you to another fabulous photographer whom I have a personal relationship with.

How much do you charge for your booking fee?

I have a booking fee of £300 to reserve the date of your wedding. This fee is non refundable as it is to guarantee that I will hold the date exclusively for you and I will turn down all other commissions for that date.

When is the final payment due?

The final payment/balance of your wedding is due on or before 30 days prior to the date of your wedding.

How long will you stay for on the wedding day?

All my packages offer full day coverage, meaning I am there for bridal preparations all the way up to and including the first dance and a few tracks later if all your guests are busting some moves on the dance floor. This means that I will be there to capture your story in its entirety and ensure that nothing is missed during your special day.

How many photographs will you take?

I don’t really stop taking photographs apart from during the wedding breakfast so the amount is unlimited.

How many images will we receive?

You will receive at least 600 images usually a lot more but the amount will vary as every wedding is different. I will leave in as many as possible, however I can not present every image taken as some will be duplicates, eyes shut etc.

Do all of the photos get edited?

Yes, every single image presented to you will be edited in my signature style.

Who owns the copyright restrictions to the images?

You will be given the copyrights to your images, allowing you to reproduce them and share them on social media with your friends and family as much as you wish. I will also retain the copyrights to the images to allow me to use them for promotional purposes.

How long will it take until we receive our images?

Typically it will take 4-6 weeks for your images to be ready after the wedding day but this can vary and increase during the busy summer months.

Do we need to feed you at the reception?

Yes please! I will need to eat to stay fuelled as it is a very long day and I can not function without food and drink.

Can you hold a date for me?

Unfortunately I can not hold a date without a booking fee and a signed contract as I work on a first come first served basis and have to be fair to everyone.

Do you work with a 2nd photographer?

A 2nd photographer can be added to your package for £300 for the entire day enabling shots of the Groom and his groomsmen getting ready and to capture your special day from another angle, giving you a whole lot of extra images, but I do not work with a 2nd photographer as standard.

What gear do you use?

I use professional DSLR cameras comprising of 2 Canon 5D Mark III’s with a series of professional Canon L lenses, including 24-70mm F2.8 L II, 70-200mm F2.8 L IS II, 100mm F2.8 L Macro IS, Canon 50mm F1.2 L, Canon 24mm F1.4 L II

Do you do group shots/family formals?

Yes definitely, however I do ask that you keep this to a minimum so that you can get back to enjoying your reception as it does take up a lot of time gathering all the different groups of guests together. I am flexible on this however, as long as you are able to allocate enough time within the schedule. I need around 45 minutes or so per 10 group shots, a little more if you would like a group shot of everyone.

Do you do Engagement/Pre-Wedding Sessions?

Yes, I do a lot of engagement/pre-wedding shoots as it is a great way to connect and get to know each other better, as well as giving you the opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera, getting a feel for what it will be like on your wedding day. As an end result you will be presented with lots of lovely portraits of you both on USB to use however you like. An engagement/pre-wedding shoot can be added on to your package for an additional £200 or is included in the Opulent package.

Do you photograph weddings abroad?

Yes I do, I love the opportunity to capture destination weddings and different cultures, please get in touch and we can talk though your plans and arrange a bespoke quote as travel and accommodation arrangements would need to be made.

What happens if it rains on the day?

Unfortunately living in England we can’t always guarantee glorious weather. However in the event that it is raining on your wedding day do not fret, I always carry 2 large, white umbrellas that we can use and although I might get a bit wet, I would rather continue to capture great images for you and make the most of the surroundings. My cameras are also weather sealed so are able to withstand a fair amount of rain.

What happens if you are ill on the day?

I will power through!…I won’t let feeling unwell stop me or interfere with your special day. In a more serious scenario, I maintain relationships with other wedding photographers who can offer standby support if such an event was to unfortunately occur.

Are travel costs included?

Yes, travel is included within a 50mile radius of Locks Heath SO31 6NL. I do photograph weddings further afield and destination weddings, however travel expenses would need to be discussed prior to booking.

Will you back up our photos?

Of Course! The last thing I would want is for my computer to crash or hard drive to fail and that’s your images lost forever! I back up the images to 3 separate hard drives to ensure that they are safe.
