Northbrook Park Engagement Shoot

A week and a half ago I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Glenn and Sammie for their Northbrook Park Engagement Shoot. It had been over a year since we initially met for our consultation as they booked me well in advance for their wedding which is in September this year, so it was really lovely to see them again and catch up with how their wedding plans are coming along etc. I have no idea where that last year has gone though, it seems crazy that we met in January 2016!

When we saw the weather forecast for the day, we were a little worried as it said it was going to rain, and the weather during the week before had be terrible with high winds and non stop rain, but we were lucky that by the time we arrived at Northbrook Park, the rain had turned to drizzle. Glenn & Sammie showed me around the venue before we started taking photos as I hadn’t yet been to Northbrook Park, so it was nice to look around the place and I thought it was a stunning venue with so much to offer in terms of beautiful backdrops for photos. There was the Old House covered in Ivy at the front of the venue, large grounds with grass, pathways and trees, a lake and then the beautiful gardens with pretty flowers which will all be in bloom by the time Glenn & Sammie get married in September. There were also lots of alluring peacocks wandering around inside the grounds too, which will be interesting for Sammie’s sister who is a bridesmaid and I am told is scared of birds! Hopefully they will stay well clear from her on the day!

So by the time we had finished looking around the venue and I’d been shown where the ceremony and reception will be taking place, it had miraculously stopped raining! I was fully prepared with umbrellas etc for both myself and the couple, but it’s always nice to not have to use them 🙂
