On 27th December I had the pleasure of photographing Beth & Tom’s magical Christmas wedding in Chichester. Beth and her bridesmaids got ready at The Harbour Hotel in Chichester where her and Tom also had their beautiful wedding ceremony.

They were then planning on walking down Chichester high street to their reception venue, 4 Canon Lane, but the weather had other ideas as just as we walked out the door it started raining. Typical but as we drove off, of course the rain stopped. It was quite handy having Beth & Tom in the car with me to direct me to the venue though as it was much tricker to find by car because of the one way streets and unusual roads around Chichester, so they were able to direct me there.
They then went on to have afternoon Tea with the speeches in between. The speeches were very emotional as Beth’s mum sadly passed away 3 years ago and Tom talked about how him asking Beth’s mum for Beth’s hand in marriage being the last conversation that he had with her there weren’t many dry eyes. I even struggled to hold back the tears myself!
In the evening we thought we’d use the rain to our advantage and capture some magical rainy shots with the rain lit up from behind and then it was on to their first dance.

Beth was a bridesmaid for Hannah, who’s wedding I photographed back in April 2019, and have become really good friend’s with since photographing her wedding. She also happens to be a wedding photographer so it was an honour to have been chosen to photograph her wedding and then recommended to Beth who is her best friend to photograph her special day too! 🙂 Sadly, Hannah wasn’t able to attend Beth’s wedding as she found out that she had covid on Christmas eve, along with one of the other bridesmaids, which was such a shame, and they were both understandably gutted but they were still involved in the wedding day and were present over FaceTime for all the important parts like the ceremony and speeches, which you’ll see in the photos. I’m so thankful that we have the kind of technology available to us in this day an age that allows us to connect and still be present when we can’t physically be there in person.
