A great mechanism to aid success in business …

I had my lovely friends Els & Luci round on Wednesday evening for a nice catch up and spa in my hot tub after an afternoon shoot in No. 4 Coffee shop for Luci’s new branding.

We are all creative entrepreneurs or ‘boss ladies’ as we like to call ourselves and have our own little group where we get together once a month to see where each other is at in life and in business and offer support and accountability to each other. It’s so nice that we get on so well and are all likeminded individuals. We all started in the same place, working in a well known retail store together so we have been there throughout each others business journey and followed along as we see each other succeed. Luci named our little group/get together’s The Ladypreneur Mastermind, which I love!

After having the girls over I just felt compelled to write this blog post because we are such a great support network for each other and we completely get each other and what it’s like running a creative business. Unfortunately Rachel, from Oh No Rachio who is also a friend and part of our network, couldn’t make our soirée but we still love you Rach!

So anyway, it got me thinking and I came up with this quote, “A great mechanism to aid success in business is to surround yourself with positive, likeminded people.”which I think pretty much sums up our group and will resonate with other people in business.

I hopped on my Mac and quickly put together this little design for my quote in Photoshop. I’m such a huge fan of script fonts and watercolours, which is why you can see I changed my branding earlier in the year and I redesigned my logo which is now so much more me because it incorporates things I love like the script font, watercolour, flowers, muted Pastel colours and looks pretty, whereas my old logo looked a bit more corporate and just didn’t reflect my personality.

I am so thankful for the friendships that I have built with these girlies and my other photographer friends. They understand the highs and lows of not only the entrepreneurial side of running a business, but the roller coaster of the creative growth process as well. It helps to have people who just “get it” and we all need that encouragement to lift us up when we’re feeling deflated or burnt out and to celebrate our wins together.
